Our mission is to transform and realign current systems of power to meet the needs of all people by working together to build Black political power and a Black policy agenda grounded in a shared vision and shared values through issue and electoral campaigns.
BLACK Action Fund (BLACK AF) is the political arm of Black Leadership Action Coalition of Kentucky (BLACK).
At BLACK AF, we know that voting, alone, will not lead to the changes we’re trying to make in our society.
Still, the individuals who win on Election Day have considerable influence on the lives of Black people across the state of Kentucky. Engaging in elections is not simply about fulfilling our civic duties.
When we vote, we are actively working to protect ourselves, our families, and our communities from state-sanctioned violence, disinvestment, and disenfranchisement.
Building Black political power requires that we grow our base, develop leaders, and run issue and electoral campaigns that address the issues we’re facing in our communities.
Voting is one of many tools we use to build a strategy around our votes and leverage electoral wins to support and liberate our communities.
